Abstract

This study aims to characterize the main patterns of landscapetransformation in agroecosystems of the Amanã Sustainable Development Reserve RDSA. The perceptions of the farmers, forms of use and classification of environments, and their implications for the conservation of local ecosystems were also sureveyed. Different local patterns of environment classification and agroecosystems have been identified, and the main conditioners of transformation of the landscape for the establishment of agricultural systems were detected. Great heterogeneity in those patterns observed was observed, which varied as a function of the settlem ent, of the socio-economic profiles of the agriculturists and those ecosystems where the communities are established. Som e topics related to the roductive systems in a perspective of protected areas were listed for further debate.
